With the beginning of the new year, it is a time of reflection and for putting plans into actions. Here are some things that we have on our list for 2019:
Learn about the Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) programs in our town
Set up a visit at a local farm
Start planting our seeds indoors and then transplant them in the Spring
Ask a relative for an heirloom recipe, passed down from the generations
Become a Meatless Monday Ambassador
Enjoy a meal at a farm-to-table restaurant that has a seasonal menu
Volunteer for a day for a school garden
Create a pot of herbs for everyday use in our kitchen
Limit my our of plastic bags; experiment with various types of reusable bags
Combine trips when running errands
Get our bicycles ready for our first trip to the Farmers' market this Spring
Some questions from the CEO of Modern Epicurean to start the dialogue around "Food and Value". Food, as a concept, has so many intersections within it - labor, equality, culture, social justice, environmental justice, science, politics, gender - might as well dig in while we have this amazing community and platform to share ideas.
